Coach Prime wants you to believe in the Buffaloes, even after their polarizing start

Deion Sanders, dubbed “Coach Prime” during his tenure at Jackson State, exceeded expectations in his first two games as head coach of the University of Colorado football team. Sanders was hired nearly a year ago and was given the opportunity to turn around the previous year’s 1-11 team.

Prior to the season, the Buff’s over/under for wins was 3.5 on the season. After their first-week win over 20-point favorite TCU, second-week rout of rival, Nebraska, and nail biting double overtime win versus unranked Colorado State, expectations grew.

After their first two wins, both the Big Noon Kickoff and College Gameday studio shows for FOX and ESPN were in Boulder to ride the bandwagon

Now with losses to two top-15 opponents, expectations have leveled out.

The attention Colorado is getting is not just from the outside. Social media engagement for the University athletics is up substantially, and TV ratings are through the roof. Not only are they getting hits on social media, the Buffs are also landing interviews on primetime news shows.
